&lt;p&gt;Tonight we ate Kumquats for the first time. The trick is to softly knead them with your fingers to soften the fruit inside. When it starts to feet like an over-ripe grape, then it’s ready. You can eat the skin. And be prepared for a tangy sweetness unlike anything you’ve tried. I ate mine with chapped lips, and they were still tingling 15 minutes later.&lt;/p&gt;
